![]() ![]() In Word you can add a button to equation editor to the toolbar if you wish. It will require the CD with Word on it (Office CD if Word is part of Office, etc,), If you have Office, Equation Editor is under Office tools. Select the parts you want to install and follow the prompts. ![]() I am experiencing a problem with the equation editor in Word. I have Microsoft Office Pro Plus 2013 (64 Bit). Click Help for explanation of the icons showing whether something is installed or not. Word crashes when trying to insert an equation. Go to Add/remove, click on the relevant entry to highlight it, click change in the window that opens after the preparing to install message, select the option to add/remove features, click next, then you will be able to see which components are installed and which not (click on the + to expand sections). The following is the procedure for installing it in Office, but it should be similar for stand alone Word or if it is part of Works. Alternatively, both Mac and Windows users can download our free MathType 30-day trial which will install the fonts and work as a better Equation Editor even. That is possibly the reason why it is missing. I suspect it must be the same if your Word is part of Works suite or a standalone application. In MS Office, Equation editor is not installed in the 'typical' default installation of Word. ![]()
